In Turkish universities the medium of instruction is generally in Turkish. However, some departments and universities offer programs in foreign languages such as English, French and German. The candidates who want to study in a language other than Turkish need to have an internationally recognized certificate to prove their language proficiency. The certificate should be valid and must be uploaded to the system during the application.
But remember that all students, including those who are placed in a program, whose medium of instruction is other than Turkish, must get Turkish languate course.
The international students who want to study at the universities accepting the special skilled students, such as fine arts, sports academy departments, and conservatoire can apply for Arts and Sports Scholarship Programmes.
Applications are received online. Applicants must fill in the application form electronically, scan the supporting documents, and upload them into the system. In the application form, candidates may select universities or departments provided. For Sports Scholarships Programme, candidates must have nationally or internationally recognized license, certificate, or equivalent document that shows the competence of the candidate or his/her past achievements for Sports Scholarship Programme.
For Arts Scholarship Programme, candidates must have nationally or internationally recognized license, certificate, or equivalent document that shows the competence of the candidate or his/her past achievements. Additionally audio and/or visual copies (portfolio) of the works produced or performed by the candidate must be included in the application.
For both programmes, the candidates are expected to have a demonstrated interest past experience in the field applied, which has to be proven.
All winning candidates of Arts and Sports Scholarship Programmes who do not have proficiency in Turkish language will be granted Turkish language scholarship for one year. Within this one-year period, all candidates must get admission until the next academic year to at least one of the universities and departments that they have chosen in the application. It is the candidates' own responsibility to prepare for the admission exams and to get admission.
Notice that winning candidates are not placed directly in a university. Arts and Sports Scholarship Programmes are conditional on the winning candidates' passing admission exams of the universities and departments that they have chosen in the application.
Candidates who can successfully complete Turkish language education and get admission in one year will continue their studies at the university as Arts and Sports scholarship holders. Otherwise their scholarships will be canceled at the end of Turkish language course.
Scholarship duration is one-year for Turkish language course and the normal duration of the course.
Yes, they can. Self-financing students currently studying in Turkish Universities can apply to Success or Support Scholarship Programs. In fact, these are the only programs that they can apply under Türkiye Scholarships.
This is not a disadvantage at all. The candidates are not required to know Turkish for the application. The Scholarships also include a Turkish language education for the candidates before they start their studies (including those who are placed in a program, whose of medium of instruction is other than Turkish).
Turkish language education is offered either at the university or a Turkish education center in the city where your university is situated. But, Turkish language education can also be provided in another city if Turkish education center is not available in the city where your university is.
Yes, the students, who are accepted to any program but not have C1 Level Certificate for Turkish Proficiency Test, are given language course for a year.

Türkiye Scholarships students can only live in dorms provided specifically for them for free. Those students who do not want to benefit from these dorms can try to find other accomodation options on the condition that they meet their own expenses.

Those students who do not have Turkish proficiency are granted Turkish language education for one year. During this period, their expenses of accommodation and health are covered by Türkiye Scholarships.

The duration of Success and Support Scholarship is a year and montly stipend is paid just for the months when they continue their education.
Under Türkiye Scholarships, Research Fellowship Programme aims to encourage international researchers and academics to work with Turkish academics on collaborative researches in Turkey and contribute to the development of the international scientific interaction between researchers.
Research proposals that has been conducted previously by the applicant or the advisor will not be accepted. Research areas are limited to social sciences and humanities subjects announced by Türkiye Scholarships and applicants are required to state the specific research topic in the application.
Scientific competence of the applicant, scientific/academic value of the research proposal and its feasibility are taken into consideration in the evaluation process. Also, the proposed research's contribution to applicant's career development, his/her country and host institution are evaluated.

Applications are evaluated within 3 months from the date application is submitted. Candidates are informed of the outcome of their applications by e-mail. The e-mail consists of the follow-up information as well for successful applications.

Other requirements are as follows:
• Being under 45 years old as of application date (preferably),
• For PhD students, being enrolled at a university doctoral program abroad and being at the dissertation stage,
• Having a PhD diploma for PhD holders,
• Certifying the language proficiency required for the research.
• IF personal data will be collected with the methods such as experiment, survey, focus group discussion, practice, having the "Ethics Committee Approval Certificate" from the Ethics Committee of the university;
• IF a study will be carried out on historical monuments and archeological sites with non-public information, documents from institutions and organizations, having "Legal Permit" taken from a related governmental institution,
Monthly grant for the year 2016 is 3.000 TL (almost 1.000$). Fellowship does not include costs such as accommodation, insurance and tuition fee. If deemed appropriate by Research Fellowship Evaluation Committee, researcher's academic activities (conferences, panels, symposiums, survey, field research, etc.) may be supported.
• Applications will be evaluated by Research Fellowship Evaluation Committee.
• Research Fellowship Programme is for a maximum of 12 months.
• Researchers conduct their researches under the guidance of an academic advisor from the Turkish university which candidates receive Acceptance / Invitation Letter.
• Grants will only be paid for the months the researchers stay in Turkey during the research period.
• Researches are tracked with reports that researchers prepare periodically and are evaluated by Research Fellowship Evaluation Committee.

No. You can provide these scores and requirements at the time of interview. For example, you applied a department which requires English sufficiency document. You can obtain that document or exam until the time of interview if you don't have at the time of application. You need to present those documents at interview. Yes. Candidates who are going to apply medical sciences, dentistry and pharmacy at undergraduate level must have at least 90 % weighted grade point average over their maximum graduation grade.
It is expected to have at least 70 % weighted grade point average over their maximum graduation grade from the candidates applying for undergraduate programs. If high school diploma is the only academic grade you have, you can not apply. However if you have another academic grade such as university entrance exam and have at least 70% success, you can apply with that grade.

The number of scholarship at social sciences is far more than medical sciences and engineering. For that reason candidates who apply for social sciences have more chance than the candidates who apply for medical sciences and engineering.

Firstly, candidates' academic success and genuineness of the information and documents will be checked. Successful candidates will be invited for face to face or online interviews as a second step.
Interviews will be held after academic success assessment of the candidates. Information for the interviews will be send to candidates' e-mail addresses that they used for application. Interviews will be done via communication tools such as internet or telephone and face to face.

Yes. Students with undergraduate scholarships can change their universities by lateral transfer according to legal regulations. However, please note that Türkiye scholarships prefer you to complete your education in the university and department you are placed at first.
It means the legal residence in Turkey. All foreign students who will get education in Turkey should take this certificate. Residence certificate can be taken from Province Police Offices. With the education visa taken from the Representative Offices of Turkey, it is applied to Police Offices of the provinces that education is got. If the residence certificate is not taken, the punishment can be implemented.
Visa and Residence Permit for Foreigners
Spouse or children of students who come to Türkiye with Türkiye Scholarships can get residence permit parallel to student's residence permit. Other relatives can get at most 6 months of residence permit if they come to Türkiye with short term visa or visa exemption/ up to 1 year if they come to Türkiye with long term visiting visa they obtain from consulates and embassy of Türkiye.
ID number is given to the students residing in Turkey more than six months. The application for residence certificate at the Province Police Offices is taken into consideration.
Education visa is given to foreign students coming to Turkey for education by Representative Offices of Turkey. The students should apply and take this visa from the embassies and consulates of Republic of Turkey.
The general health insurance is the insurance that enables foreign students to benefit from general health services like Turkish citizens. The students should apply and take this visa from the embassies and consulates of Republic of Turkey. International students, who will study in Turkey, are taken under the coverage of 'general health insurance' in order to give them equal, qualified and extent health services, which are supplied by the government. Within the framework of 'Scholarship of Turkey', health expenses of current students are covered by their universities in certain circumstances. Students with 'general health insurance' can benefit from state hospitals without a fee and also private hospitals paying a moderate (Contribution) fee.
Turkiye Scholarship covers the residential expenses in state-run dormitories functioning under the General Directorate of Credit and Dorimitory Agency.For those who do not prefer to stay in state-run dormitories, there many other choices as private dormitories, foundation's dorms, residence halls and apartments that varies to the financial stuations of students.
