Dear Türkiye Scholarships Students,

According to the statement made by YÖK on 17/02/2023, in order to prevent any disruption in higher education due to the earthquake disaster in our country;

1-      The spring semester of the 2022-2023 Academic Year will start on 20 February 2023 in line with the decisions to be taken by the universities.

2-      In the programs where practical training is provided (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary, fine arts, engineering, etc.), the training will be continued face-to-face. Our students will be able to get detailed information about this issue from their universities.

3-      For the 2022-2023 Academic Year, it was decided to continue the programs through online classes, other than the programs in which applied education was given. In addition, in the beginning of April, hybrid teaching methods -both online and face-to-face methods- will be considered by YÖK.

4-      It has been decided that among the registered students in higher education programs who requests to freeze his studies will have their registration frozen by the relevant higher education institutions, and this period should not be deducted from the maximum education period.

Scholarship Procedures

Students to Attend Applied Education

It is decided that it would be appropriate for our Türkiye Scholarship students who studies in the programs where applied education is given, to continue their education by complying with the calendars of the higher education institutions they are registered.

Students who will not be able to continue their education and will return to their country by freezing their registrations in line with the decisions of YÖK, must inform Türkiye Bursları and obtain approval for Türkiye Bursları through TBBS (Türkiye Scholarships Information System) before fleeing the country.

Students who freeze their registrations will also have their scholarships frozen, not to be deducted from the scholarship period.

Students to Continue Through Online Education

For Türkiye Scholarship students enrolled in programs where online education decision has been taken by the university they are registered in;

The continuing duration education will be considered within the scope of the normal education period by the universities and similarly, it will be considered within the normal scholarship period by our Presidency. For this reason, it is necessary to pay attention to participation in classes and exams in the online education process.

In this process, Türkiye Scholarship rules will still be valid.

Scholarship payments and cash accommodation payments will continue, provided that these students continue their online education.

Turkish Language Preparatory Students

Our students who are currently continuing their Turkish preparatory education can obtain information from the Turkish teaching centers of the universities they are registered in whether they will continue their preparatory education face-to-face or remotely.

Accomodation Processes

-Monthly payments of our students who receive monthly cash accommodation assistance will continue within the scope of the relevant Decree obtained by the Presidency.

- Our students staying in the dormitories affiliated to KYK will be able to continue to stay in the dormitories on duty in the province where they are studying, in line with the guidance of the dormitory directorates they are registered in.

-Students living in private or foundation dormitories will be able to continue to accomodote in the dormitories they are registered in. For dormitories that are subject to eviction, our students will be provided with alternative dormitories in the same city.

Requests of students staying in dormitories other than provinces in the earthquake zone to be provided with dormitories in a different city due to distance education will not be accepted.
