Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) met with Turkiye Alumni in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. The meeting was attended by the Turkish community of Harar Turks who transmigrated to Ethiopia during the Ottoman Empire.
The meeting in Addis Abbaba was attended by YTB President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kudret Bülbül and Turkish Ambassador to Ethiopia Mr. Fatih Ulusoy. Nesreddin Hojele, the President of Ethiopian Turkiye Alumni Development and Solidarity Association, in his speech, expressed their great appreciation to Turkey and YTB for their contributions. Ambassador Fatih Ulusoy pointed out in his speech that Ethiopia ranks first among African countries in terms of the amount of Turkey's investments.
YTB President Kudret Bülbül also gave a speech in which he noted that Ethiopian Alumni are the volunteer ambassadors of Turkey. "They will strengthen bilateral relations between Turkey and Ethiopia," he added.
The meeting was also attended by the Turkish community of Harar Turks whose name derives from the Ethiopian Harar region they transmigrated to during the Ottoman Empire.
