The Winner is Yunanistan at the 2nd International Students World Cup

The success of the First International Students World Cup which was held in 2015 laid foundation for organizing the second one this year. International Students World Cup has attracted a great deal of attention, and we would like to thank all our international students who were interested in participating.

199 teams from 67 countries applied for World Cup qualifications supervised by our designated tournament coordinators. After the legal document controls, city elimination rounds started on April 11, 2016. City elimination rounds were held in Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir, Bursa, Eskişehir, Kayseri, Trabzon, Edirne, and Konya, after which 16 most successful teams earned the right to compete at the 2nd International Students World Cup finals from May 15th through 19th in Ankara.

The final four teams became Bosnia and Herzegovina, Afghanistan, Greece, and Mali. The consolation match was played between Afghanistan and Mali. Mali reached the third place beating Afghanistan 2-1. The final was held between Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Greece won the tournament beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-1.
