Turkish Language Program for Foreign Public Officials and Academicians (KATİP) Started
KATİP, a scholarship program designed to enable foreign public officials and academicians to learn Turkish language and get to know Turkey more closely, started on November 15, 2015. 26 participants - diplomats, academicians and public officials - from different countries will be studying Turkish language at İstanbul University Language Center for a period of eight months.
In addition to Turkish courses, various seminars, conferences, institution visits, tours, culture and art activities are also offered to the participants. Within the scope of the program, trips to historical and cultural places in İstanbul, Bursa and Cappadocia will also be organized. Furthermore, a one-week Ankara program will be arranged in order to provide the participants an opportunity to both get to know Turkey's capital Ankara better and to get acquainted with Turkey's administrative processes.
At the introductory meeting held in İstanbul, a presentation on the activities of Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities and the scholarship program was delivered. Afterwards, the participants attended an orientation program regarding the life in İstanbul.
