Türkiye Alumni Meetings in Indonesia & Malaysia
Indonesian and Malaysian students who have completed their academic education in Turkey convened at the Turkish Embassies in Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur.
The alumni meeting in Indonesia was held in the company of the Turkish Ambassador in Jakarta Mr. Zekeriya Akçam, while the meeting in Malaysia was held in the company of the Turkish Ambassador in Kuala Lumpur Ms. Başak Türkoğlu. Both meetings were attended by local businessmen, the representatives of public institutions and organizations, and institutions of higher education, as well as a great number of Türkiye graduates.
Ties Are Getting Stronger
The Ambassador Zekeriya Akçam in his opening speech of the alumni meeting in Indonesia noted that such events contribute greatly to strengthening relations between Turkey and respective countries, emphasizing the role of students. A graduate of Istanbul Technical University from 2012 Citra Chergia said, "The scholarship opportunity provided by the Republic of Turkey was a turning point in my life. Therefore, I am very grateful to Turkey which I miss a lot."
Bilateral Relations Will Flourish
The meeting in Malaysia commenced with the opening speech of the Turkish Ambassador in Kuala Lumpur, Ms. Başak Türkoğlu. Pointing out that the continuous increase in student mobility between two countries will improve their bilateral relations, the Ambassador Türkoğlu noted that Türkiye Scholarships offer significant opportunities in terms of public diplomacy.
